CRC Brings Neighbors Together to Discuss the Israeli-Palestinian Relationship

Last night, a packed house of more than 250 people joined us at the 72nd Annual Meeting of the Community Relations Committee & Sidney Z. Vincent Memorial Lecture to discuss a critical issue: the relationship between the Israeli and Palestinian people.

A diverse audience of community members and special guests from across faiths and ethnicities were inspired by the words of our speakers Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger and Shadi Abu Awwad, who shared how their organization Roots-Shorashim-Judur facilitates shared encounters and experiences among Palestinian and Israeli people. "We're creating a new model of coexistence," Hanan said.

Reflecting upon the CRC's work locally in 2018 and looking ahead to 2019, CRC Chair Bradley J. Schlang said, "Our roots are firm. Our trees are blossoming with new opportunities for collaboration. Our branches are extended in friendship to engage with all of our community partners to improve the lives of all in our wonderfully diverse community."

Thank you to Hanan, Shadi, and Brad for their powerful remarks, and Event Co-Chairs Debby Rosenthal and Andrew Kohn. And, thank you to everyone who joined us to be part of the conversation.
