Campaign Launch Focuses on Future

Jewish Cleveland Launches Critical Annual Campaign with Focus on the Future: Emerging Leaders Share Stories of Inspiration and Resolve

CLEVELAND – Thursday, September 10, 2015 marks the launch of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s 2016 Campaign for Jewish Needs, which is the annual fundraising Campaign that supports our community’s vitality and vibrancy in the year ahead. The event is open to the public. Doors open 7:00 p.m. on September 10, 2015 at the Mandel Jewish Community Center (26001 S. Woodland Road in Beachwood).

Hundreds are expected to gather to kick off the three-month-long Campaign and show their community pride. Keynote speaker Alina Spaulding will join us in Cleveland for the launch event and share her own inspiring story. As a young girl, Alina fled Ukraine with her parents, and the global Jewish community rallied around them and saved them all. Hers is a remarkable story of compassion and perseverance that is not to be missed.

Additional featured speakers include emerging Jewish Cleveland leaders who will share inspirational stories of how they are making a difference on their college campuses and in our community. These extraordinary young adults are Becky Sebo of Pepper Pike, Daniel Pearlman of Solon, and Andria Kaplan of Cleveland. Experience what it means to be a young person standing up for Israel and ensuring a Jewish future in today’s changing world.

“The future is in our hands,” said Dan Zelman, General Campaign Chair. “We have an opportunity ahead of us. This is our community, our Campaign. And, when we come together as a community we can accomplish great things. We are stronger together!”

All community members are invited to join speakers Alina, Becky, Daniel, and Andria plus Campaign Chair Dan Zelman and Event Chair Jeff Wild for a meaningful night. Together we are feeding the hungry, comforting the sick, caring for the elderly, ensuring a Jewish future, and supporting Israel. Together, we are making people’s lives better and our community stronger. Together, we are Jewish Cleveland!

The Cleveland Jewish community is comprised of 80,000 people, and the national and international reach of the Federation encompasses tens of thousands more. Through the Campaign for Jewish Needs, people’s lives are changed for the better in Cleveland, Israel, and 70 countries around the globe. 91 cents of each dollar donated goes directly to the community for programs and services.

Registration cost is $20/person. For more information or to register for the Campaign Launch Event, visit www.jewishcleveland.org, email campaign@jcfcleve.org, or call 216-593-2900, ext. 740.
