Meet Our 2017 Summer Interns

Some of our summer interns enjoying lunch and ice cream with the Federation's Young Leadership Division team.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s 2017 Summer Interns are here! Get to know this impressive group of college students who will be spending their summer working with Team Federation.

Hannah Kraus

Hannah is a rising senior at The Ohio State University and is our Development intern, reporting to Lisa Hacker. She is pursuing a double major in Psychology and Criminology on the Pre-Law track, and is also pursuing a Hebrew minor. Hannah is an active member of the sorority Alpha Epsilon Phi, where she formerly served on the Executive Board as Vice President of Operations. She is involved with two organizations through Ohio State Hillel: Buckeyes for Israel as their Social Media Intern, and For The Women: Philanthropists and Activists. Hannah also campaigned on campus this past spring with Protect OSU to help defeat a pro-BDS issue on the student government ballot. Last summer, she interned at the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office. Hannah is from Solon and is the daughter of Edward and Bonnie Kraus.

Max Millstein

Max is a rising senior at Indiana University and is our IT intern, reporting to Dan Strom. He is majoring in Informatics, with a minor in Business and Entrepreneurship. He is involved in the Tamid Club, where he does pro-bono consulting for real Israeli start-ups. He is also a member of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity, where he is a part of the rush and philanthropy committees. Last summer he interned in Tel Aviv for a start-up company called Snapp Mobile where he had many different responsibilities, including social media manager, and worked on the customer support side. Max is from Beachwood and is the son of Michael and Julie Millstein.

 

Jessie Paley

Jessie is a rising senior at the University of Cincinnati and is our Planning Intern, reporting to Ellen Miller. She is pursuing her major in Judaic Studies with a minor in Organizational Leadership, and a certificate in Religious Studies. She is involved in her sorority, Chi Omega, and was the Director of Sisterhood last year. During the past year she work at the Mayerson Jewish Community Center of Cincinnati in the after-school program. Next semester, she will be a Sunday school teacher at Rockdale Temple in Cincinnati. Jessie spent the past semester abroad studying in Israel at Tel Aviv University. Jessie is from Orange and the daughter of Michael Paley and Marsha Resnik Shamis.

Roston Shore

Roston is a rising junior at Case Western Reserve University and is our HRD intern, reporting to Jill Pupa. He is pursuing a major in Philosophy with a possible secondary major in either Sociology or English, and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Military Ethics in his fourth year through the Integrated Graduate Studies program at CWRU. Roston is currently the Vice President of his fraternity on campus, Pi Kappa Phi, and worked this past semester to gain the largest new member class in the chapter’s history. Last summer, Roston worked for his city in the department of public service executing tasks such as replacing sidewalks and repairing roadside catch basins and fire hydrants. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Roston moved to Cleveland at the start of his freshman year of college.
