Description

The CIPC and Institute for Young Artists is known as one of the top international piano competitions for emerging pianists ages 10-18. With over $30,000 in prizes, the CIPC and Institute for Young Artists offers unparalleled musical experiences for today’s world.

Enjoy a semi-final solo round featuring contestants from the Rising Star (ages 10-12), Junior (ages 13-15), and Senior (ages 16-18) Divisions, followed by an intimate conversation with competition juror and Israeli pianist, Shir Semmel.

One of Israel’s leading pianists, Semmel has performed as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician in renowned venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Musikverein in Vienna, and the Konzerthaus Berlin. Praised for her expressive artistry, technical brilliance, and dynamic stage presence, she has appeared with leading orchestras and at major international festivals. A passionate chamber musician, she co-founded the Jerusalem Piano Duo with her brother, Dror Semmel. An acclaimed educator, Semmel teaches at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and mentors outstanding young musicians in Israel and internationally.
