After suffering a near catastrophic injury during the Second Intifada, Bashir traveled to Israel to receive medical attention which helped him save his life. After leaving Gaza, Bashir because an outspoken activist for peace and “The Words of My Father” is a powerful tale of moral awakening and a fraught, ferocious, and profound relationship between a son and his father, and two nations at odds with each other.

Yousef Bashir is a Palestinian American from the Gaza strip. Bashir holds a BA in International Affairs and an MA is Co-existence and Conflict from Brandeis University.
