Dr. Arthur Lavin, pediatrician, Advanced Pediatrics
Arthur Lavin, MD, FAAP, a pediatrician in private practice and an associate clinical professor of pediatrics at Case Medical School in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the chairperson of the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Psychosocial Aspects of Child and Family Health, the entity of the Academy charged with developing policy relating to the psychological and social well-being of the children of America.
He is the co-author of two books on parenting: Who’s the Boss? Moving Families from Conflict to Collaboration (2nd Ed., Collaboration Press, 2010) and Babies and Toddlers Sleep Solutions for Dummies (Kindle Edition, Wiley, 2007).
Dr. Lavin was trained and taught at Harvard and MIT, including training by Dr. T. Berry Brazelton. He has served on a number of national committees of the American Academy of Pediatrics and published original research in such journals as Science.
In regard to his interest in neuroscience, Dr. Lavin was the first doctor in the United States to make neuroscience-proven working memory training available in the United States.
Dr. Lavin also serves on two other national panels of experts:
1. On the issue of neurotoxicity impairing brain development resulting in the appearance of autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and learning disorders in children. Advisory Committee member of Project TENDR (Targeting NeuroDevelopmental Risks). www.projecttendr.com

Dr. Lavin is married and has three children, one married and two identical twins.
Joan Morgenstern, director of parent education & community engagement, Senders Pediatrics
Joan Morgenstern is an Early Childhood Educator with more than thirty years of professional experience. Her formal training includes a BA in Child Development and an MA in Supervision and Administration in Education. Joan has extensive training in Conscious Discipline, is a certified Breakthrough Training Instructor, and a certified trainer in the Nurtured Heart Approach©. Her work as a classroom teacher, school director, and mom of three have provided her with extensive practical experience and enhanced her breadth and depth of knowledge in the field of child development. In Joan’s current role as Director of Parent Education and Community Engagement for Senders Pediatrics, Joan offers one-on-on parent coaching sessions, parent education classes, and professional training for educators and is passionate about helping parents gain footing and build confidence as they nurture and guide their offspring. Joan is an educator at heart! Whether it’s educating children, teachers, or parents she likes helping others flourish and reach their potential.

Courtney Evenchik, director of school psychology services, A+ Solutions
Courtney Evenchik received an MA at the Ohio State University specialist level program in School Psychology. She is the director of the School Psychology program at A+ Solutions and serves as the title I coordinator. She facilitates social skills groups, parenting groups, and provides parent education and guidance. Courtney conducts psychoeducational assessments and sees children and adolescents for counseling. Courtney lectures on a variety of topics related to education, parenting, and mental health. Courtney is also the coordinator of the Cleveland’s chapter of Safety Kid, a comprehensive child abuse prevention program.
